Hi everyone,
I currently ride an Öhlins RXF36 M.2 (170mm) equipped with a Vorsprung Smashpot. I absolutely love how this fork feels—having previously ridden Fox 36s, Lyriks, and Boxxers, nothing comes close to the ride quality of the Öhlins.
However, on rough enduro and DH tracks, I’m noticing a significant amount of flex in the lowers. To solve this, I’m considering retrofitting the damper and Smashpot into a RockShox ZEB chassis. I already have everything needed for the Smashpot side, but I'm unsure about the compatibility of the Öhlins damper with the ZEB.
Has anyone attempted this kind of swap or fabrication before? Is it even feasible to adapt the Öhlins damper to fit the ZEB?
Any advice or insight would be appreciated, cheers!
Why don’t you upgrade to a dual crown and enjoy having warranty?
no idea if it has been done... but as I have come to learn, the performance of a front fork depends, in order of importance, on Chassis, spring and damper.. with a coil in the equation you can just try it.... even with a select damper you may be surprised if you have an ok Zeb (not a lemon with shitty qaqc on bushings and alignment..).
cheers.
Why not get the RXF38 with a coil spring?
