The Andes-Pacifico command center was abuzz this week in the final crazy days before the second running of this amazing Chilean adventure. Montenbaik head honchos Matias Del Solar, Eduardo "Large" de Solminihac (in audio) and Ignacio "Nacho" Barbossa discuss just how much Pisco will be needed for the final stage. #NoPiscoNoDisco Photo by Gary Perkin
Apparently there is some sort of unwritten rule by race organisers and videographers that states it is not a proper adventure until there is some form of river/water crossing. En route to the Day Zero campsite. Photo by Gary Perkin

Cowmuting is a chore out here. -Gary Perkin
It's not all shredding, radness and bike-related mayhem here. We managed to sneak in some culture, too. The Nomads' Chris Johnston & Dylan Wolksy, Jon Cancellier of SRAM and Seb Kemp sampled some amazing wines at Viña Aquitania - producers of the Chilean Wine of the Year in 2014. #TopShelf Photo by Gary Perkin
The perks of being the birthday boy on day zero means Sam Flanagan gets his t-shirt adorned with artwork by all the big hitters at the race. Who knew Fabian Barel had such an artistic flair! Photo by Gary Perkin
Last year we saved the Pisco shenanigans for the end. Yours truly bearing the brunt of its impact. This year folks are not holding back. Iago Garay and Dave Trumpore (in audio) initiate the newbie Seb Kemp into the group. Photo by Gary Perkin
After said Pisco initiation Seb Kemp needed some help reading Day One's map at evening briefing. Photo by Gary Perkin
Camp site way out in the sticks + night time + head lamps = long exposure tomfoolery. Iago Garay shows he can write backwards as well he rides forwards. Photo by Gary Perkin
The DarkCloudCrew are in pretty thin on the ground this week, but you know Jon Cancellier and Seb Kemp will stay true to the tradition of never leaving a friend behind and enjoying every minute of the day's trails. Photo by Gary Perkin
Anti-Grip in full force. The top of La Parva ski resort takes no prisoners. Photo by Gary Perkin
Early morning on top of the world in a ski resort. Who knew the wooden barrier furniture could provide such nice framing. Photo by Gary Perkin
Considering the end result of the last time Fabien Barel raced in Chile less than a year ago - a broken vertebrae - his performance winning every stage today is pretty damn impressive. Photo by Gary Perkin
Nico Lau is charging hard here but making it look so damn easy and reveling in the tough conditions. He described Day 1's Stage 5 as the best trail he has ever ridden. While the rest of us mere mortals just hung on. Photo by Gary Perkin
Speed tuck, hecka roost, the next rider doing the same hundreds of metres back. Oh man, Day 1 Stage 2 was photo gold for me. Photo by Gary Perkin
Cactus? Check. Anti-Grip, off-camber singletrack? Check. 30+C in the midday sun? Check. That's the Andes-Pacifico in a nutshell. Photo by Gary Perkin
Sam Sharp didnt look that sharp coming into this turn on Day 1, Stage 4, but his ninja yoga skills sure put him in a different light. #touchyourtoes. Photo by Gary Perkin
There are plenty of enthusiastic fans lining the course out here in Chile giving riders so much support. It's so rad to see. Photo by Gary Perkin
My original caption for the father of Enduro, Fred Glo hitting the deck was "No Country For Old Men." But after this hit, he just got straight up and charged off while shouting at me, "did you get it Gary?!" Legend. Photo by Gary Perkin
After almost 4000m of descending on Day 1 you can forgive Dylan Wolksy for the odd mistake in the final stage. #DoYouEvenSwitchbackBro Photo by Gary Perkin
Fair to say it got a little Bur(ly) out there. Chris Johnston with some klingons before Day 1, Stage 5. Stay tuned for more action as the adventure continues (if we survive). Photo by Gary Perkin
