Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
First one is Jacob Turnbloom. I met him years back when I worked at a record store, since then he's become a close friend and he's always been a rad musician. He played guitar for Failure, one of my favorite bands from the 90's when they reunited in the 2000's and now he's the lead for a local band called Mrs. Magician. This is his solo stuff though, which I'm stoked to say I was a part of helping make the video and I'm in it. And no, I don't smoke cigarettes, even though I did for this video:
Second is Wavves, who is fronted by an old friend of mine. Stoked on his success.
I get pumped to get pitted by blasting Carl Sagan's Cosmos into the atmosphere

Any other time it's stuff like this:

Both are fun to ride to for different reasons. Anything fun is what I'm mostly after, but occasionally I get the Die Antwoord rolling and I huck stuff.
Speaking of Failure, I am loving their new album, The Heart is a Monster. Good stuff.
With regard to San Diego Bands, I love NoKnife and Reeve Oliver too.
I've been a huge Rush fan since the mid 1980s.
I love classical and romantic era symphonic music too, but I have to be in the right mood.
I guess I love all music that requires thought, precision and talent to play.
I've posted this before... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DSvIhurodM He's a former trials rider that I used to know in my balancing and big upping days.
Also, I've been digging The Wind and the Wave lately... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mOw4PdK6jA

Historically, I started with David Bowie, went to other classic rock like the Stones, Beatles, Doors, Zeppelin, etc. Then a lot of new wave and punk through Jr. High. Then I went through a huge reggae faze. Then I went to the eclectic mix above.
I should add, and now have, that by "Punk." I meant mostly X. John Doe has some good solo stuff, this one gives me chills every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ciy2Mxrt5Kk
Tell him it's about time for a FWH reunion! (Hey, NoKnife just played at the Casbah a few weeks ago, why not?)

I can't wait to hear it.
I found my new favorite song
I've been listening to the Dirty Heads of late.
I've got to throw a shout out to Trailhead here. First you asked why the Forums were so dead. Then you created this excellent thread. It sounds like you live in a rather strict household. And I hope that we don't get you in trouble for expressing our musical views. Hey folks, all music is good...
Big fan of Wu, RA The Rugged Man and Reef the Lost Cauze, to name a few.
