Hmm. Interesting design but the big flaw I see is that not everyone has their feet in parallel alignment with their pedals be it cleats or flats. Some people need duck feet for their knees or an inward angle. Cool concept but just won't fly with every person.

The FAQ basically sums up how i feel about it.... it's kind of a 'worst of both worlds' scenario.

You dont get the benefit of having your foot physically locked in, in case of any bouncing around, but your foot is still 'stuck', with no float, and no ability to make any micro adjustments.

My opinion (as both a clipless user, as well as a professional Industrial Designer) might be biased... but this is a kickstarter i wouldn't touch this with a 10ft. pole.

Interesting idea no doubt but the lack of float is a big issue. If there was a way to engineer a little pivot with some springs in the pedal that would simulate float that would be a step forward. I think there was a flat pedal that was attempting the simulated float of a clipless pedal but I don't remember who it was.
