Big Bike Magazine has some course photos up from Chatel. Looks like it'll be another crazy event with lots of big slopestyle/freeride names in attendance.

Just scoped the course today, to say its steep would be a HUGE understatement. its insane, and awesome. Some of the rocks/corners/lines are gnarly. Definitely stoked for the event and practice tomorrow.

Hahaha. Looks like things are picking up steam. Strait Train and Cam are standing on a pretty massive drop.

Chatel Mountain style 5th edition run again on the same spot 'the face'. All the big riders are here.

Last year we tried to go bigger and with the 11m drop with push it pretty far not to the max because some of the guys do bigger but in a contest it's a bit delicate and it's not just about a big step down there is the rest of the track. So we back to a more natural feel using the rocks and bringing some dirt instead of using laddders but without taking things like the rock garden out. We want the rider to be really impressed and make the CMS a unique event. It's not slopestyle or dirt jump it really is freeride. Some sections are slopestyle ish but if you come with a dj bike or a slopestyle bike you will struggle. You also need to be in shape physically, not be scared of steep stuff. There is a section where you have to scope your line which will be important it's a real mix. Everybody is realy happy and it should be a good event

Romaniuk is out after dislocating his shoulder. Sorge crashed hard and it isn't sure if it takes part.

There is also 30 amateur who where invited through videos they submitted.

When all you get for tricks are whips, you know the course is gnarly! I know they were all holding back, but still....you could tell that half the battle is just sticking your line, nevermind the rest of it...it's freakin huge that course.

Closing comment from the Obsess vid: "I know what 2 or 3 of the guys are planning for finals tomorrow, there's going to be some heavy hitting...". Smile

So what's the deal with Sam Pilgrim? First they say that he didn't qualify and then there he is in 9th place?

Qualifying was actually seeding. All invited riders were qualified for finals. Everyone except Sam took a seeding run, since he didn't he was seeded last and ran first in finals.

I was wondering about that... One of the french sites calld it la manche de placement... which is seeding run, but all the english sites was calling it a qualification... Thanks for clarifying.
