This prototype was spotted beneath a Rocky Mountain Product Manager at the Enduro World Series in La Thuile. While the current Altitude Rally Edition is the rig of choice for Rocky's Pro team racers, the platform may be due for an update soon. This prototype seems to take some inspiration from the new Maiden DH bike, utilizing a similar four bar Smoothlink suspension design. We'll keep you posted as details are unveiled. Rad that he had those Vital MTB stickers on it. : )

With the Horst link so far forward, its straying into M-Link territory.

That would be the new Slayer I guess. They flipped the Horst-link pivots inside out like they did on the new Element to improve heel clearance on the chainstays.

As its a prototype in carbon it's probably very close to production, this is how the maiden was just before it was released. It's expensive to make a carbon prototype so was probably done in aluminium till it was right.

Great looking rig from what I can see of the spy photo. No doubt she shreds, although not Horst. Secondary pivot is above the rear axle.

Rear pivot is definitely below the axle. Not sure if it's the angle of this photo or what, but when you see a pic of the frame only it's clearly below the axle.

Where is a pic of the frame only?

Well the frame looks like a copy of my Canyon Strive, the bike I choose after riding the 2nd gen Slayer and knowing the Altitude is no option.
Now I am super happy with the Strive, one of the top rated enduro bikes at the moment. I doubt that the 'new' slayer will match or top this bike experience, also knowing that you would have to pay double the price and miss the flexible shape shifter geometry. I was a pride Rocky rider for decades, but there are more inovative companies out there...
