For the Mechanic that has everything… Except a fancy ruler
Featured Member ReviewSurprisingly useful for measuring bearing sizes and spokes
Most home mechanics won’t use it often
The Park Tool ruler is the tool that someone that truly has everything else might think is a necessary purchase to round out their tool collection. That is what I thought at least when I saw it hanging up in the shop where I worked at first. If you are a person that works on wheels fairly often, or older bikes that may have odd bearing sizes, this is actually a useful tool. Fixing up old or odd bikes, I used the tool numerous times to double check bearing size and you can do so much faster and easier than using a set of calipers. I also used the tool to double check spoke length and the hole that you hook spokes onto ensures that you get the right length quickly and accurately. I found this especially useful when digging through a box of unlabeled spokes of multiple sizes. Also, although this is obvious, it functions as a normal ruler which can be handy at times. The Park Tool blue also matches your other shiny tools, so you look way more pro than your buddy with a silver ruler… so that is a bonus.
