Qualifying Action from Andorra

Troy was second at every split but then turned it up a notch right here taking the quali win over Gwin by just .018. That's like the difference between a spike and a semi-slick knob. -Sven Martin
After breaking her foot in Mont Sainte Anne on the final jump, Myriam Pompon Nicole crushed it straight to the top. Keeping it exciting in the women's class until the very end. -Sven Martin
This little kid would have been front page in the Elite results today and smashed the field by almost nine seconds today. #finnittowinit -Sven Martin
Gwin with his eyes already two turns down the track. Flawless. -Sven Martin
The women's field was tight at the top today and the Top 3 women were all on the same second, 4:59. It could be anyone's game tomorrow. -Duncan Philpott
Morning glory. -Duncan Philpott
Elliott Heap has some work to do to find the 8 seconds he lost to Finn for 2nd place. -Duncan Philpott
Remi Thirion can get into shapes like nobody else can. Watching him in his quali run on the lower reaches today was a sight to behold. I feel he is untouchable there. -Sven Martin
Rachel Atherton flying at the top. She was first at all four splits and only lost it on the very last bit of track. A near perfect season only one more day away and we will see if the fairy tale will be fulfilled. -Sven Martin
Amaury Pierron turned a few heads today for the second time this year. 4th place qualifier. -Duncan Philpott
Ferran Jorba said he had no interest in racing after a serious injury in Mont Sainte Anne last year as a Junior. This is his only World cup this year and he's just here "hanging out." 5th place in qualifying and hanging out! -Duncan Philpott
Steve Peat makes it through the qualifying round as we all expected, winding up for his last orders. #allhailpeaty -Duncan Philpott
Steve Peat's very last World Cup calls for a final Syndicate team photo for the archives. What a crew, the combined experiences, awards, results and records set will be hard to replicate or repeat in our generation. Thank you. -Sven Martin
Luca Shaw still remains super smooth despite the blown out technical conditions. His 6th place in qualifying sets him up nicely for another podium and 2017 deal. -Duncan Philpott
Gee had a big crash yesterday, re-injuring the shoulder he hurt in Ft. William. He rolled out of the gate today but pulled over. As a protected, Top 20 rider he has one more day to rest then make a decision. -Sven Martin
Grinning from ear to ear! 14th here in Junior World Champs and now Charlie Harrison has stepped it up to qualifying 11th in Elite. #USA -Duncan Philpott
Danny Hart is still a threat for the win. There are some predicted storms around 2PM tomorrow and I feel he has most to gain if it does unfold like that. -Sven Martin
Taking the tight line: Danny vs Connor. -Dan Hearn
Matt Delorme had only one thing on the brain and in his sights after a long hot dry dusty day on the hill. -Sven Martin
Thomas Estaque went biggest in the toughest part of the course during his run. It's good to see a track with so much tech, gnar and steeps. It seems a whole different crew of riders are able to shine. -Sven Martin
Brendan was less than happy with his run today. I expect he will go for broke tomorrow. Nose-bonking his way down during his qualifier. -Sven Martin
Mariana Salazar is another great rider who always looks good no matter what the track. Pecking her way up the results sheet race by race. 6th today. -Sven Martin
Eleonora Farina from Italy with her best qualifying result in 5th. -Sven Martin
Fastest at the speed trap is quite a rare and prestigious achievement at a World Cup, much like winning a stage in an Enduro World Series. Matt Stuttard has done both and we feel he deserves recognition even if he did flat in his run, failing to qualify. -Sven Martin
Loic Bruni within striking distance of the podium on a track he has won on just last year, albeit in very different conditions. -Sven Martin
Isak Leivsson stoked to be back in the mix, making it through a full season without injury and stacking up a Top 20 result today too. -Sven Martin
These clowns (*Bernard Kerr missing) practice together and it's not the first time they have been sequentially lined up in the results. Quite bizarre actually. -Sven Martin
Loris Vergier has been flying under the radar a bit at this round however you can't dispute his 8th place in quali. -Duncan Philpott
Tahnee crashed hard before the first split in her quali run. She was rushed off to the hospital for X-Rays of her sternum and we're not sure on her status for race day. -Sven Martin
It's not all that bad getting up early on quali day to shoot Women and Juniors when the light and dust combine to give us shots like this. -Sven Martin
Peek-a-boo. Guess the rider. There should be enough clues barely visible beneath the shower. Uncorking one. -Sven Martin
Jackson Frew showing us just how big the jumps are out here. Soaring into 4th place right here. -Sven Martin
Paul Rayner is a pretty damn handy man all round. Be it with camera, lens or wrench. He killed it today for panshot friday! -Duncan Philpott
See what we mean? Mesmerizing #panshotfriday photo by Paul Rayner.
Troy Brosnan's two biggest supporters already have their sets staked in the grandstands for tomorrow. #momndad -Sven Martin
Greg Minnaar, questionable. -Sam McQueen
The lonely lift up as the sun rises. -Duncan Philpott
It's a beautiful place, Andorra. -Duncan Philpott
The British sleeve descends on the course. Matt Walker, was the 5th-fastest Junior today. -Duncan Philpott
Shooting like this kind of makes it feel like enduro. 4th place today for Manon. -Duncan Philpott
Gaetan Vige was just one of many Commencal riders who had a solid run today. He was tight to Eliot Heap in time, just behind in 3rd -Duncan Philpott
Cole Lucas doing his bit to rip those turns up. -Duncan Philpott
The moment after the moment for Adam Brayton. -Duncan Philpott
Wide eyed with excitement. Pierron backing up his 5th place in Lourdes -Duncan Philpott
Brock Van Heel was a fresh face at the start of the season, a few races of documenting Gwin's antics and now the YT Mob is celebrating its first season! Well done. -Duncan Philpott
Troy testing the limits of grip, deep in the dust in morning practice. -Dan Hearn
Once again the Mayhem Media duo grace the slopes of Andorra with their beer-fuelled Viking vivacity. -Dan Hearn
Waiting for the last orders. Bring on race day! -Duncan Philpott
