First Look: 2015 Canfield Brothers Jedi 27.5

View as: Slideshow | One Page
Introducing the 2015 Canfield Jedi, now with 27.5-inch wheels, updated geometry, and a new XL size. Chris Canfield weighs in on the changes.
Tall riders rejoice! There's still a reliable aluminum frame with your name on it.
Moving to 27.5-inch wheels forced a few minor adjustments to the geometry as well.
Why 27.5? It's always an interesting question, especially when the 26-inch version was already rad.
Market pressure may have been an influence, but was it a good thing in the end?
Yes indeed. Chris was surprised by the benefits of the bigger wheel in the DH application.
In the suspension department, the 2015 model is identical to 2014. Judging by its ability to eat up the monstrous Brutus Gap on Cypress while also charging through the rough, they've found a great balance.
9-inches of lovin'.
The head angle now measures 63-degrees, further improving confidence on the steeps.
While the idler pulley may look odd at first, it serves a purpose.
Timed testing proved the Jedi's rearward axle path was a quicker option.
The new Jedi is a true of work art, just like every other Canfield bike.
The combination of 9-inches of travel mixed with 2-inches of rearward movement gives the Jedi the ability to "shrug" off square edge impacts and smooth landings.
