Shimano Saint lever minimum reach

Edited Date/Time 5/23/2026 6:55am

Good morning.
I bought some Shimano Saint brakes for my Mondraker Summum downhill bike. On my other bikes I use SRAM Maven brakes, and I'm used to the feel of the Maven levers.

I have small hands and I feel that even at the minimum reach, the Saint levers are a little far from the handlebars.
Is this normal with these levers? How can I correct this? I've had bikes with Saint calipers and XTR brake levers and didn't have this problem.

I found the OAK Components levers that change the feel of the Saint levers, but I don't know if they reduce the reach.

Thank you
Paulo Andrade

If someone made a lever that was close to your bar while set in the furthest out position on the reach adjustment, that would be amazing. The Saints feel quite spongy when adjusted really close to your bars, which is unfortunate because that’s where we want them to be.
