I recently purchased a Pike fork 150mm from LBS but it does not have a rebound knob. Has anyone experienced this is the past. I won't go back this bike shop as I'm disgusted with them (I ordered an RCT3 and got an RC) but I'm hoping it's as simple as ordering the knob and replacing the bolt. I can live with the RC model but would like to adjust my rebound.

I need to preface this with an admission that I know nothing about the pike fork, but I doubt it would be as simple as replacing a nut on the bottom of the fork leg. There's a reason one fork is cheaper than the other and it isn't just because they want to charge you for the extra feature. There are probably other internal differences.
Maybe it wasn't the shop that screwed up... It could have been Rock Shox. I'd take it back and order the fork you really want.

I agree with Falcon, take the RC back and get your RCT3. You paid for it after all, and by law the shop is obligated to give you what you paid for, or give you your money back.

The brake hose is incorrectly routed as well. Is supposed to go inside the fork leg. I'd take it back and get the RCT3.

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't the RC only available as OEM? On the RockShox site it says "This product is installed on bicycles as original equipment only, it is not sold separately. See your dealer for details." Did you cut a deal with your LBS to purchase an RC from another bike whose new owner presumably opted to switch it out with another fork at purchase? If not, I'd take it back ASAP and get your RCT3. Not sure why there's no rebound knob on there.

You should be able to adjust it with a 2.5mm allen on the drive side foot nut.
And GOOO is correct, that's an OEM fork, not for individual sale. Something's wonky with this, for sure.
The footnut looks wrong, too. Check it:

Plus, the colored decals? Did they take this fork off another bike?
I'd take it back, Discount Tire Co. style.

Bad LBS. You're supposed to be the good guys. "Customer for life" and all that. It's time to do right by this man if you want to keep him, and probably most of his riding buddies, around. Perhaps we only have half of the story and you guys were upfront about it being a take off fork. I hope that is the case. But get this man his RCT3.

Ok, so I sent the pictures to SRAM for clarification and this was their response;
"This is not normal. the serial number shows the CSU was sold as a spare part, so it appears the fork was not produced fully at the factory/has been serviced in the field with incorrect part installed" They adived to take the fork to an authorized dealer for inspection.

I took it in to a different shop to inspect the fork.
#1 2013/2014 charger damper assembly. It was supposed to be a 2015 model
#2 it came with no stickers I ordered custom ones to match my bike. (someone mention the off color stickers)

The guys put on a temporay Revelation rebound bolt (New one is on order should be in soon)
Tested the fork to ensure its performing the way it should be. and they did not charge me anything for inspecting it.

My issue was not whether it was the RCT3 or RC, I was willing to bypass that and let that be (it is what it is), My issues are that at the time of pick up I was lied to told that the RC came with no rebound adjustment (my stupity for being a novice), and most important having a half built fork could have been dangerous on the trails.
I sent the shop I purchased the fork from an email and as espected the responce was one of not owning up.
This post was as an inquiry and hopefully help to others fellow riders.

Thank you all for your responses.

Dude, you need to march that fork right back to the place you got it and demand a full refund, ASAP, and never set foot in there again once you have ALL your money back. They sold you a hodge podged together fork with tons of inconsistencies and deceptions. They flat out lied to you and tried to slip a big one by, not okay. I'm actually mad, and I have no idea who you are nor does this affect me in anyway... and if this happened to me, I'd be smashing display cases and axing every carbon bike they have on display.
I DEMAND JUSTICE!
PM me the shop's name and phone number, if you have it. Time to start prank calling them.

Seriously man, this shop took you for a ride. Not cool.

It doesn't matter whether you are happy with the RCT3 or RC. Because you didn't even get a complete RC!

Take it back and go elsewhere.

wow. honestly...you really should go get your $ back...and then some.Or take em to small claims court on principle alone.

Or give us their contact info.

Bunch of creeps.I too am mad FOR you...seriously man...get in there. Maybe it's not worth it to you...but it's totally unethical what they did, from the fucked rebuild, to awful customer service, to failing to take responsibility. For dawg's sake man...

I must have missed it in the Forum rules… but are you not allowed to mention the shop's name? Is it in Florida? (All the shady/crazy stuff happens in Florida! lol).
