Alex Rankin made mountain bike movie history with his "Sprung" series of videos, and now he's making them available to view online, for free. Immerse yourself in the troubled youths of Steve Peat, Brian Lopes, Rob Warner, Chris Kovarik and many more and take a stroll down memory lane. Those boys were pinned as ever back when bikes and parts bore only the vaguest of resemblance to today's finely tuned race machines. Time to pay your respect if you haven't already! Saying that I grew up on Sprung videos would be a lie because I probably saw my first Sprung at around 25 years old. But at least in terms of mountain bike videos and my riding career, they were the first and always the best. I'm watching Sprung 1 now and I'm tripping out, It says that it came out in '88, but they're riding Z 1's and DHO's. I'm pretty sure that I had one of the first DHO's in '96 ish? having worked and raced for a bike shop just up the street. It's gotta be a typo. Yep, footage from '97. I had no idea that Chrome has been around so long. Yooze guys should make separate comments sections for each film so we can all watch step by step and remember together.
