Creating this topic so we can nerd out about MTB drivetrains in typical Vital fashion. I will start this off by discussing the latest one: SRAM Transmission Mechanical vs AXS and my thoughts and observations on it. When SRAM first released their Transmission, there was a common misconception that you need electromechanical shifting (AXS) in order to get the perfect shift. People thought there is some sort of "chip" in the cassette that lets the AXS derailleur know when to shift safely.
