i only rode the rims for 2 days, so i can't testify to long-term durability. i do know that at whistler i had a few big strikes with rocks, where you could hear the rim taking the impact and the rim was fine. mitch ropelato and the syndicate guys are running the rims at the world cup level and the new versions that were on this bike have a more DH specific layup and resin, making them more resistant to impact and demands of DH than other carbon rims Edge has made in the past. i personally would not worry...

i have a sedan, not hatchback (those are gross : ) snow is fine if you're not trying to monster truck. i survived winter in colorado without a glitch. i wasn't going into the mtns much in the snow, but i definitely drove around town in 6 inches of snow. with more than 2 people, it gets bogged down for sure. the back seats are pretty worthless for people as the roof is too low. but with the car full of gear and a passenger, i'm rarely in less than 4th gear on freeway mtn climbs (like vail pass or...

no filters, just higher ISO and like a 45 second exposure (the stars are a little streaked). i could see the hint of the milky way w/ my eyes, but when i looked at the camera's screen after the picture and it looked like this i couldn't believe it. i was 50 miles from any nearby insignificant town, too, so no light pollution.

the venue is pretty cool. from the "ballroom" area on the mountain, you can see the entire course basically and the section with the "rocks" is like 80 feet from the base lodge, so those wanting to see riders get pinch flats and struggle with a 30 foot steep section will be easily entertained. i rode it yesterday in dickies and vans and 1 lap took me 27 minutes...think i could hang with the top pros? : ) i did go all middle ring though.
