Wow. 25 million. Based on that figure I assume 5.10 is a 6-8 million dollar company annually (unless the valuation was based on 5 years in stead of 3). In any case, 25 mil would then be a very fair and very hard number to turn down. As a business owner, you need an exit strategy and this one is too sweet to turn down for Charles Cole. Adidas will not "hurt" the brand and I do not foresee it evolving erroneously through them as it might through Nike, Reebok or even Under Armour. Not to mention Cole's team will...

I guess that would depend on the number of injuries (and I'm talking life altering injuries) that occur in BMX. I really do not know enough about the frequency of injury in either sport but I do know they happen. My original comment was just a theory a friend and I were batting around....

Maybe it is bigger than BMX vs. Spandex......maybe the UCI is trying to shield itself from the liability of injury that some say seems be a recurring theme in 4X?

9/14/2011 2:49pm Thanks for the Lucas vid. The quality of his work supports the point of my original comment; the independent stuff is dying off. Harder and harder for those guys to make any money at it. Why buy indy vids if there are tons of free vids out there? Sure the free vids are packed with corp. promos, but most don't care about that. It's a great talking point, to say the least.

9/14/2011 1:13pm Pretty sure we agree on that Scott. As for my comment earlier: has nothing to do with selling out. I could care less who makes money and who doesn't. I'm just not a fan of commercials. You can't sit there and tell me you enjoy the same Ford Truck commercial 90 times in the same hour during a football game.
