Shimano bluetooth adapter + smartphone + STunlocker app would likely give you a percentage readout, not sure if the bluetooth connection would remain live the whole ride or if you'd have to reconnect each time you want battery data

i just rode a rental size 4 Levo SL from downieville up to packer saddle, up gold valley rim trail & back down to town via pauley creek. it climbs great, plenty of power given how light it is, fantastic range, but imo as a potential alpine climb + descent bike it's overall horrible as the descents aren't even worth the climb: the 2 pot sram brakes are horrible, require far too much constant finger pressure compared to a good 4-pot brake to keep your speed in check so you don't obliterate the rims & tires, the 34mm fork is...

the steps display is a terrible option, battery level readout is 5 bars ie not even to 1 significant figure. you have 2 bars left: does that mean 40% or 21%?? big difference. garmin readout is 2 significant figures e.g. 31%.. here are the exact garmins which will read EP8 battery level: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=q4RSx3lPFL8dWJ9lk12Kk9

6/9/2019 11:54am 2014 Nomad 3 CC XL with 2014 Fox 40, Derby AM rims, 30.3 pound easy-pedaling DH bike basically. I usually run the fox 40 stanchions as high as possible in the clamps to drop the front end a bit, except at whistler where i run them maxed along with a riser bar.
