smelly Added a reply to 2025 Team Rumors
1/26/2025 4:32am Was going to post the same. Glad to see him back. I lost a lot of respect for some of the top riders who crapped on him for his win. Minnaar in particular was whiny about it. Four years later we had riders whining that races were canceled due to weather.

1/21/2025 9:30am Obviously, I know what a hydraulic inerter is... But maybe you could explain it to sspomer here and I'll review? On the more serious note, is the RS touchdown tech purely for feel? I can't imagine unweighted bike damping bypass plays much of a role in suspension performance.

1/16/2025 4:20am Can someone explain why internal gear hubs don’t have the issues people complain about with gear boxes? Their weight and location is not ideal, but the weight would be less relevant if centrally located. I’ve not heard the complaints about drag and stuff with a Rohloff or Alfine. And as for shifting under load, well, I don’t find derailleurs do...

1/9/2025 7:25am What I want to know, amongst this discussion of a UBH, is who the hell is managing to strip their brake mount threads? Good lord. You pull that off, you probably shouldn’t use a stove or knife, either.

12/29/2024 1:34pm All anyone needs to know about how small the field of dh racing is - a $100k prize is enticing. $100k is barely a rounding error in most pro sports.

12/28/2024 5:54am Ah, yes, I’ve been concerned there aren’t enough choices in the stem category.

12/20/2024 4:10pm Not crass at all. There’s just too much overlap in this space. Too many companies trying to do the same thing. Bringing it back to the first page of this thread- would Guerilla gravity still be around if they still made reasonably priced aluminum bikes in Denver? That was their niche. They did it well. Then they developed a carbon...

12/20/2024 6:10am I doubt this will make a dent in Canyon. Aren’t they mostly a road/gravel/commuter brand? Reckon Van der Poel gets paid more than all of what Canyon spends on enduro racing. And the sponsor oodles of cross/road teams.

12/18/2024 8:18am Got nothing to say to 13 year old me in 1996 who knew he was discovering the greatest thing I’d ever find in my life. All my closest friends, my best experiences and memories, they all come from bikes. My mental and physical health is a struggle when I’m not riding enough. Also, none of this coaching and bike positioning/setup/practice...

12/17/2024 8:00pm Yeah but your mechanical skills are 10x mine. You’d probably think rebuilding a rocket engine isn’t too tricky. Given enough time I could figure out how to rebuild that post. Then I wouldn’t do it for a year and totally forget how to do it and be in the same quagmire. The OneUp is brilliant in its simplicity for us...

12/14/2024 2:09pm Rider on the viewers right looks big for Laurie (the other RB helmet led rider fits their stature, looks like JG), and the black helmet guy in the middle seems rather small for Peaty. Anyone else think that?

12/13/2024 7:37pm I had a bike yoke dropper. Worked great. When it needed a rebuild I learned it was a damn Rube Goldberg device. After three attempts, I gave it away. Maybe the partnership didn’t work out because the device wasnt complicated enough. Maybe OneUp wants it. Edit: sure like my 4 OneUp posts that work just fine, even if not perfect...
smelly Added a comment about press release VORSPRUNG TELUM DEEP DIVE, and how to custom tune it in minutes using Rapid Revalve.
12/11/2024 4:05pm People are ridiculous and nearsighted about price. $400 more than a cane creek or Ohlins and you got a totally custom shock from a guy doing cool things. If that’s what you want. Less than that, actually, because the custom setup you want plus shipping is gonna run you $200. Sounds like a good deal. Just like how an Atherton costs what an Sworks or Santa Cruz costs

11/30/2024 12:29pm Not as old as some of these, but Earthed 3 still gets me stoked to ride. I spend a fair amount of time riding rollers in the winter and probably watch it 3 or 4 times per winter. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JXiAKgED7lA

11/26/2024 5:13am That’s true. Case in point would be the shitstorm that is Rampage judging every year. That stated, just going on points doesn’t work either. as you guys have mentioned on the show, there are Asian national champs who would be expert class in France but have more points than most European pros. So just boiling it down to points isn’t...

11/22/2024 7:19am I like your math and see your point. €40k in the scheme of pro sports is nothing. Costs more than that to bring most pro teams to each game. But it’s a huge cost in the MTB world where some riders are paying to be there and some of the manufacturers are small companies (Frameworks, Atherton, Forbidden, Propain, NS, Intense)...

11/12/2024 4:27pm No, Ive only seen Bosch and Specialized have range extenders. That’s why I’m wondering if it’s a cockamamie idea to carry a second battery to get the range I want. Seems like it should be simple, but maybe there’s something I don’t know.
