9/22/2016 6:05pm Well, that is pretty disappointing. I thought those holes in the threaded ends of the spokes were for a small torx wrench, but I guess not. It seems like an obvious thing to do.

9/22/2016 6:15am So right now, on the road, E-bikes are essentially flying under the radar. You don't have to register and inspect them, etc. These Greyp guys are trying to change that.

9/22/2016 5:49am Are there other hubs that have threaded holes for the spokes? On one hand it seems like a good way to eliminate spoke windup and get higher tension, since you can simultaneously put a spoke wrench on the outboard end and use the torx on the inboard end. On the other hand, if you muck up the threads on one hole, you need a new hub.

SJP Added a comment about feature Beware, It's Getting Weird Out There
8/30/2016 2:51pm I feel for you, but in my experience this hasn't been a problem. I rode a 26" until last year when the frame finally gave up. The reality is that even though the high-end stuff isn't available in 26", the mid- to low-end stuff that is currently available in 26" is better than the high-end stuff that was available when I bought the bike.

SJP Added a reply to The Internet Was Wrong: Short Chainstays Suck*
7/19/2016 9:19am Hi Serge-W: The OP started out with "The internet was wrong, short chainstays suck". Note the footnote associated with it: "*short chainstays are totally legitimate in kids bikes, short people bikes, XS bikes, dirt jumpers, and "I only ride park - bikes" You close with something much more reasonable: "your experience is different, be happy with it". Then OP came...

7/19/2016 6:09am I'm sorry, but you think moving ankles back and forth by 0.6" has a similarly large effect on weight distribution to leaning your upper body back and forth? It does not. Secondly, people do play with ankle position by moving their cleats on their shoes, most of which have a range that is a good fraction of that 0.6". CS...

7/19/2016 4:01am Serge-W wrote: Dude, 0.6" is huge. Put yourself and your bike on the scales and check the difference when, in riding position, moving your upper body back and forth. Weight balance is so fragile, you can easily achieve a delta of ten pounds. Do yourself a favor and check it out, it's an eye-opener. Well, you've just repeated my argument...

7/18/2016 6:31pm There are various technologies. Most strain gauges are either piezoelectric elements or thin patterned metal lines. The piezoelectric elements work by generating a voltage in response to change. The thin metal lines' resistance changes. For a wireless gauge, there will be a battery, a transduction circuit to read out the signal, and a communications circuit. Accelerometers are typically MEMS devices - microelectromechanical systems. They are micro-fabricated from silicon using semiconductor processing techniques. Basically, they are a mass on a spring, with the mass position transduced capacitively.

7/18/2016 6:11pm Oh, please. Your rant boils down to: I want a slower-handling bike. That's fine, you like what you like. I happen to like a quicker-handling bike. All this pontificating about front-rear weight distribution is a little ridiculous. If you keep the wheelbase the same and go from 16.9" chainstays to 17.5" chainstays, that amounts to moving your feet 0.6", while...

7/11/2016 9:46am Losers. The "synthetic image" is nothing of the sort. It was created by Don Eigler's group at IBM in 1993 [M. F. Crommie, C. P. Lutz, D. M. Eigler, Science Vol 262, p 218, 1993], and has absolutely nothing to do with impact on a liquid . It is a scanning tunneling microscope image of iron atoms arranged in a ring on a copper surface, and shows the resultant effect on the confinement of the conduction electrons at the copper surface. Paper available here: http://users.phys.psu.edu/~rick/MATH/LECTURES/LECT13/PDF/eigler_circula… See here for other images of quantum corrals: https://www.google.com/search?q=quantum+corral&espv=2&biw=2329&bih=1345… Total BS, sold by liars who...
