I had a 12 and have a 14 now. I've tried the PUSH reducer but still didn't get the big hit performance. Noticed the slash specific Monarch had become available on QBP and ordered it a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, Trek doesn't have the upper hardware available yet so I'm stuck piecing it together..

Pretty sure you're referring to the re:Aktive technology combined with DRCV. Apparently Trek thinks it still has a place on the lower travel trail bikes. Slash riders were having to run insanely high rear pressures to avoid bottom outs on bigger hits and the Monarch has the adjustability slash riders are looking for. My take...

Mine seem very narrow in the toe box... Actually got rid of them b/c of this alone. Otherwise a really nice offering from Shimano.

no i saw. And kudos to them for fixing it (but honestly the verdict is still out IMO. i'll wait until there is rider feedback in mass before deciding if it is drastically improved instead of just taking their world for it in early 2013 at a product launch.) It still stands that the temptation is there and they created a lot of hype and a lot of people bought em and are now disappointed and have done damage to the brands reputation. The system was launched prematurely and that's the sort of thing a short term quarterly profit mindset...

Meh, public companies have never been good for the Outdoor/Bike market in my experience. Get ready for lots of closeouts from Fox in the next few years!
