I have always thought it was interesting that people wore neck braces instead of armor. I find that due to fit issues (I have not tried the Atlas -see other comment) it seems that the great majority wear one or the other. It seems odd to me that there is a lot of statistical evidence (for off road riding) regarding the effectiveness for chest and spine protection, and essentially no evidence of the effectiveness of neck brace protection, yet most folks opt for a neck brace over spine/chest/shoulder protection. Just like certain types of clothing, it seems what is fashionable...
