A 148mm rear hub spacing? Why oh why wouldn't a 150mm rear hub spacing work? Were those annoying, extra 2mm just too heavy?

offset bushings- help lower and slack it out a bit and theyre pretty cheap

So do you guys ever claim the gear as a starter pistol in a locked case, so it doesn't get opened, and is handled more gently?

i can't vouch for sven or dave, but i never had as much gear as sven and could/would always bring everything in a carry on. the only items i couldn't carry on were studio lights, which if lost/stolen, wouldn't have ruined a trip (and were usually unnecessary anyway : )

Sven, Trumpore, or Spomer, how often does that gear break/ get lost while in transit on the airplanes. I've heard about the starter pistol trick, you guys do that at all?
