Based on the comments here, everyone stops mid DH race run to check out if a crashed competitor is ok? Hucks 60' road gaps before breakfast, and doesn't own a pair of lurid pyjamas. It's easy enough in an enduro xc type of event to ask if "you're ok" while rollin' past (and you can faintly hear one of the first guys past ask). From my experience these events are inclusive and riders look after each other; caring for the injured and offering mechanical assistance where required.

Of all the Nats videos doing the rounds, this one is the most watchable, entertaining and insightful.
