Dang, that'll make it a touch harder finding a used whip, ya tall bastard! I think you should shoot for a more aggressive 5" bike, or even a newer 6" bike rather than an older long travel bike. Something like a GT Sanction, or a Trek Remedy might do the trick. It's too bad the buy/sell forum here is kinda...

That is one clean, lean, fast looking bike. I was surprised to see Stans wheels, but I've never really tried 'em, so what do I know?

phobospwns Added a reply to Are You Getting a New Bike for 2016?

Like "new new"? No way, I can't afford that at all. Insane how much bikes cost these days. I've bought 1 new whip all my days, back when I worked at shops. Spent as much on that as used bikes I get now a days. So as far as a "new to me bike"? Oh yeah. Picked up one already...

phobospwns Added a reply to Where do all the stolen bikes go?

I've had 2 bikes stolen... both GTs. One was a Ruckus UF which I'd really put a lot into (monitarily and from an effort standpoint- that was my first pair of MTB wheels I'd ever built on there- old saint hubs, damn they were nice), and another was a late 90s Aggressor which I'd turned into an "old school" commuter...
Agreed... he came across sounding pretty clueless.

fwiw, I found that reply by Steve Romaniuk to be insulting and myopic. "So why are you speaking? You don't get what it means to sacrifice and hang it out for something you truly love." What a foolish thing to say. Many of us put it on the line each and every day--just cos it's not at Rampage doesn't mean it's not valuable. I'd argue that there are TONS of jobs that are way more important than riding your bike around.

Here's my full susser rides. I've also got a DMR Trailstar set up as a DJ, and a Charge Cooker Fatty Smile Moorewood Izimu, this bad boy is for sale, only 1200. I just don't DH often enough to justify keeping her caged. Trusty ol' '10 Sensor... I ran her over a few years ago (long story), and...

Can't speak to the Auron, but I love my Durolux RC2. It's the first Suntour fork I've had, and I was skeptical at first, but you couldn't beat the price (250 second hand, but new), so I took the plunge. Glad I did. It's sturdy as hell, the compression and dials make a definite difference, and they're easy to work...
I'm shocked Paul is walking so quickly after the crash, that is really impressive, a testiment to his will power, but also to the medical professionals who worked on him, and those who will be working with him through the process. I wonder what the changes will end up being. Seems like some pretty basic safety precautions could be put into place easily. I assume it'll be dialed back to a single run format. Maybe a longer period of time to dig/install safety features. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about a rider union.

What size did you get for this first look, and how do your legs measure? I checked the website out for sizing details on this pad, and they've got the XXL coming in at a 15.7"/13.4" upper/lower leg circumference. That doesn't seem right... as it's pretty small (it'd be a S/M for any of their other pads). Could you proved some insight into that?
