Yeah I appreciate the compound differences but I'm more talking about feel tbh. For me the MM corners better, feels like a smoother transition when leaning the bike over. Either way, just have more confidence and as it just seems to work in all conditions I'm more than happy to just leave it on there.

I got a good ride in on the Tacky Chan Gravity Pro. These finally are the radials for me. They roll fast, brake well, dig into loose dirt, and don't squirm on hardpack or smashing berms. In the new Grav Pro casing, the radial effect seems less than when I tried the Albert or MM, but I think that's for the better. They feel kinda slightly more muted than a normal casing most of the time, but if you hit roots they conform really well rather than pinging off. Really pushing hard into berms or loose corners, they deform and...

Have had a couple of rides on the new Romy in the 29" Gravity Pro soft flavour in the rear and I really like it! The new gravity casing is notably stiffer than the old Gravity Albert I was using, was pushing as hard as I could into corners and it felt super stable and supportive. Feels like it rolls...

While I’ll never own one, I have to give credit to specialized for creating this. It’s giving me nostalgia vibes from the late 90’s/early 00’s when there was a lot of weird and wacky experimentation in DH. The fact that after 3+ years of development, this is an actual production frame (regardless of cost) is pretty cool.

Specifically for cornering: Mary is best for un-predicable and natural terrain. Mainly due to the long, narrow, and out-ward twisted shoulders. Albert is better for hardpack. Wide and stable shoulder blocks that are tightly packed. Tacky Chan is best for fast and aggressive cornering. Similar shoulder blocks to Albert, but more openly spaced and supported further down the sidewall. Romy is like a combination of a Mary and Albert side knob. Every third block is a square edged rectangular siped knob similar to a Mary. The other shoulders knobs are more similar to a Albert: Square and heavily supported.

Albert is a 3-2 tread pattern with taller profile that delivers more grip in varying terrain (bonus - the 2.6" version has taller knobs, a popular choice amongst some of our EDR athletes). Romy is a 3-2-2 with shorter more wide/stable blocks. Because of the reduced height and more open pattern it will pack up less and roll faster. From your described setup, the Trail Romy in the back would be ideal. On the bikepark wheel, i would go up to the Gravity Romy if you want to prioritize speed/durability. Gravity Tacky Chan if you feel you need something more...

Really intrigued by the new addition of the Romy! How does it compare to the Albert? To the untrained eye, the tread patterns look reasonably similar. Looking for a reasonably fast rolling rear to pair with a MM / TC up front for typical all mountain / enduro use for a 160mm bike. Looks like the Romy would be ideally...
