I did similar with my 2012 Wilson. I just dropped the crown a smidge.

I was concerned as well! Putting in the 8.5 setting instead of the 10"mode helped split the length difference (5mm total). Surprisingly it ride very stable!

Cool to see old bikes still on the trails. My only concern is that longer shock + big front wheel have raised quite a lot the BB ...
