That's not what he's advocating them for though - he says recovery days, in other words days when you want to stay in i1/i2, which an ebike is perfect for, having more freedom where you can ride on days when you need to restrict your HR. Where I live, it's all up or down, so in the past it was go hard or stay home and rest, where with an ebike I can have those intermediate days, keeping it easy but still getting to go up into the mountains and come back down on the fun trails.
