2/11/2011 7:38am Good (by today's standards) 4X tracks are too expensive for most promoters to build. While a BMX track can deliver value over years, most 4X tracks have to recoup their costs in a weekend. That's not possible -- unless we racers are willing to pay $hundreds per entry.

2/9/2011 12:22pm For many years I went back and forth based on situation: flats for pump/jump, clips for trail/road. Lately I'm liking flats for everything. My Tricross has flats. I ride it all the time on the trainer and road, and I'm climbing the hill to my house 20% faster than a year ago. The flats are NOT slowing me down.

I used to race DH on a BigHit with a 26 front and 24 rear. I could feel the 24 catching on courses like Durango and Mt. Snow. When I went to dual 26s, the bike rolled much more smoothly and there was no going back.
