I'm 6'3 and don't hit anything bigger than 5ft drops yet. Overall the climb switch is a huge game changer. This is my all mountain "do everything" bike so I didn't want to jeopardize climbing. It's pretty nice not having air because the coil sucks up a ton and has so much stability climbing steep rooty rocky climbs. I've been shocked I made it up a tough section with the amount of grip. New tires help, but overall it's an excellent purchase. I would recommend 500 VALT spring to start... you can always get the 450 if you think the...

I am 220lb (225 with a pack on) and I have a 450 VALT spring on it. I think it's perfect. I was on the fence between 450-500 but went with 450 for less strength. I love it!

you can control all rebound, low speed compression, high speed compression.... i have left mine with the factory settings and it was perfect for me out of the box. I have done 4-5 ft drops and haven't bottomed it out. It feels amazing on drops... absorbs it all, doesn't buck you at all. The climbing is great with the new climb switch. Honestly no pedal bob at all. Very responsive over rocks and roots when climbing or decending. The downhills were stupid fast and buttery smooth. It is very nice. If you're a weight wieney, you save a couple hundred grams with the VALT coil vs air shock.
