Having a mouth guard also prevents one from potentially biting on one's own tongue on a hard crash (it happens a lot more often than you think). Note that you could still win a DH world cup a week after an unfortunate accident like the above but that sort of thing is probably the rarest of exceptions rather than the rule.

7/31/2023 2:13pm I've had a nice Schwinn Copeland duel sport bike for 3 years now, added a handle bar bag, top tube bag, seat back, bottle cages in triangle and 2 mounted to seats. I've just kept a regular maintenance schedule and I've changed tubes and added slime, haven't really had any big problems
