Off of what sspomer said, I tried riding with headphones only once. It was 2008 at Northstar on Livewire and I was rocking some heavy metal. I over shot the first half dozen jumps and ended up pulling to the side of the trail to remove my headphones. It was weird... I was having trouble judging my speed because I couldn't hear the wind. Never have used them again.

There are a ton of slow people on Livewire at Northstar. Last summer, I was coming up on a kid (he was probably 16) pretty quick so I yelled "on your right" about 3 times. He didn't respond, so I figured he had heard me because of how loud I yelled. As I am passing him, he veers to his right crashing into me. I stay on my bike, he does not. I then realized he was listening to music. He was okay and was understanding after the initial shock, but it makes you wonder on trails like (dirt merchant...

1/10/2011 10:06am For the winter it's Kenda Nevegal 2.3's F/R 40 psi each... good all around choice. Over the summer, I ride primarily at Northstar (anyone who's ridden there knows how dusty it is). Front: 2.5 Maxxis Minion DHF at 30 psi Rear: 2.5 Maxxis Swampthing at 32 psi That Swampthing HOOKS in the dust!
