The battery at the top of near the head tube can cause a rattle that will drive you nuts trying to solve it. The battery expander wears down over time which allows the battery to move just enough to cause a rattle. You can adjust it or even stick some padding under it to stop the rattle.

My son ran a great race and put everything he had into this season! The way he was treated pissed me off. They told him ok and started his countdown. He didn't screw up anything...may be the USAC officials should pull their heads out of their a**es. There should have been room for him at the start gate or better yet don't run practice so close to their start time. He was there to win and to have this a**hole treat him this way is uncalled for. BIZUTCH I don't care how old my son is I will have his back or anyone elses back when they are screwed over. Sorry if you don't like the fact I'm a MOM and post on mtb sites. I just switched over from the Mallet DH Race to the Mallet E's and after one ride I ended up switching the axles over from the DH to get the wider Q factor back. Now that the axle is longer I am really liking the Mallet E's, they feel the same under my foot as the Race's do and to be honest I can't tell a difference performance wise.
