2/1/2024 8:56pm Between my wife's bikes and mine, I've had three Shimano 12-speed derailleurs that arrived with sticking clutches (under-lubricated). Lubing them with the correct Shimano grease fixed that. If you get water ingress and the one-way roller bearing rusts - or if the roller bearing just craps out, replace the clutch mechanism. OK - I'm just trying to visualize how that's constructed. There has to be some sort of sleeve on the outside that telescopes to accommodate the shock's movement - wish we had a cutaway view of it to see the details.

Very cool that CC has put this together. My concern is the spring contacting the shock stanchion because of flex / vibration, causing the air chamber to develop problems holding air. I realize it’s relatively low pressure (at sag, anyway), but at max travel those seals still have to hold air. Any nicks on the stanchion would make that tough.
