It's funny how up in arms people are about this if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture and how much this impacts any of our lives. Racing bikes are these athletes jobs/careers/income/whathaveyou and a business just like any other. Pursuing an opportunity to make more money (I'm only assuming. I know nothing of the contract details, nor do I feel the need to) when you can in a sport where your time at the top is uncertain and limited, seems logical. I wouldn't for one second think negatively of Aaron because of his decision. After...

Its simple. Trek had a LOI. This is usually not legally binding (despite what they say). Gwin knows his time in the limelight is likely limited so he's making the most of it. What gives? If his performance dropped or we hit a major economic downturn Trek would drop him without a regret. So he's doing the same thing. Big whoop. Nothing immoral about it. Supply and demand. Right now there is one of Gwin and a lot of demand. Good for him. Good for the sport. Not a issue of character at all.

dude.. it's a freakin' letter of intent, NOT a contract. they still have to work out the details. college athletes sign these all the time and back out and go to another school. a letter of intent by definition is the acknowledgement of willingness to do business. hope you guys don't fall off your horse.. it's way up there... I think Vital is going to do a feature on it, they asked if they could use this race report from my other forum post. Hoping full results are in there when it gets posted, I know Long Nguyen was there shooting photos and kshiz was there shooting video... should be a sweet feature!

12/22/2010 10:37am My handses are medium to L in size, but I prefer thin(ner), hard(er) grips. I'm considering having "ODI Ruffians For Life" tattooed on my neck, actually. I've tried larger, squishier grips and have found that my hands get moar tired and I have moar arm pumps with them, so back to the Ruffians I wents.

@Krispy: Tyler went 12th at Sea Otter and 2nd at Chile Challenge earlier this year then wrecked a wrist. Came back and went 3rd at Nats. Yeti rider, nice kid, strong. Trevor just turned 17 this year, been workin' his arse off. RPM rider, went 4th at Plattekill, qualied 4th then ran 8th in finals at Northstar, went 5th at Nats. Upgraded to Pro for the Keystone MSC and got 5th, would've smoked the Junior-X field by 18+ seconds. Super good kid, extremely dedicated, heaps of talent, humble, and stoked.
