A 3 bar rear triangle? Has the Demo always been like that? Don't think I've ever noticed it.

No, the demo used to be like that. A few years ago they switched over to the current linkage design, mainly to lighten the frame and move the COG lower.

If you compare the two the major differences are the chainstay (it got turned into a standard yoke, rather than a miniature rear triangle) and where the chainstay pivots from. Everything else in the suspension linkage moved closer to the ground, and they made the front triangle to have a one sided a-symmetrical seat stay.
