The chairlift assisted alpine area of Mt Buller greeted riders for Round 2 of the Australian Gravity Cup. The track was very unique, with awkward and technical features that would challenge even the most seasoned riders on the Aussie and international race circuit. Troy Brosnan blew away the competition once again with a staggering 5+ second win. Full results are available here.
For Round Three of the Australian Gravity Cup, riders headed to Canberra, Australia's capital. Riders were eager to check out what was in store when they heard that a new top section was added to the world famous Mt. Stromlo downhill run previously used for the 2009 World Champs. When all was said and done, Troy Brosnan and Tracey Hannah remained undefeated, taking the win in the Elite categories. Connor Fearon made it two for three in the Under 19 male category.

CaptyvateMedia Added a new video 2012 Australian MTB Champs

6/26/2014 5:38pm
The 2012 Australian MTB Champs hosted at Eagle Park in Adelaide provided some of the most exciting racing of the year. Temperatures reached 104 F (40C), providing some of the hottest, driest conditions possible. Top qualifier and pocket-rocket, Troy Brosnan, took the Elite Men's win, closely followed by his team mate, Sam Hill. Rhys Willemse, who is looking to make a comeback to racing, took third. In the Elite Female class, Tracey Hannah continued her winning streak and remains undefeated this season. Jill Kintner wasn't far behind, but a flat near the finish costed her some time. Connor Fearon won...
The 2011/12 Australian Gravity Cup Series Final sent riders down the nutorious Monkey Trail at Awaba, near Newcastle, New South Wales. Riders were faced with dismal weather and perhaps the most technical and daunting features of any course in Australia. The track is rated highly for it's similarity to overseas courses and served as a great test for the upcoming 2012 World Cup season. Sam Hill and Troy Brosnan of Team Monster Energy / Specialized once again battled it out for top spots in the Elite Male category. A minor mistake would end Troy's near-perfect Aussie season, allowing Sam Hill...

CaptyvateMedia Added a new video Australian Gravity Cup Reel 11/12

6/26/2014 2:32pm
This edit sums up the countless hours of hard work and dedication that went into covering the entire MTBA Gravity Cup Series of 2011/12. From the Australian alps of Thredbo to the sub-tropical steeps of Awaba and everywhere in between, every round provided both myself and the riders with various unique challenges and experiences. I'd like to thank Shawn and Brandon from VitalMTB, without their support I would not have been able to make it to every round to provide you all with the footage above. The 4th round of the RedAss NSW/ACT Downhill State Series headed to Mt Stromlo in the Australian Capitol of Canberra. The track played host to the 2008 UCI World Championships and has since experienced some changes to the track. Known for it's technical rock sections and large jumps throughout, the track was dusty as per usual and provided the riders with a great weekend's racing. I headed along to capture all of the action from the weekend on behalf of downhill247.com Check them out here: www.downhill247.com/ Filmed, edited and produced by Ty Bowmaker. There has been much speculation and plenty of rumors floating around in regards to Kona releasing a carbon downhill frame. We can now confirm that Connor Fearon is in fact testing a prototype model at this weekend's race. Although we weren’t allowed to directly interview anyone from Kona, including Connor himself, about the prototype model, these few shots give you an idea of the sleek, new design that Kona is close to putting into production. I can tell you that this thing is light, 16 kilograms with DH tubes and should get down to 15kg running a tubeless set-up. Suspension...
