So if the dig teams are paid and Redbull puts up $300k in prize money, would people take the same or even more risk?

Well said. I have had one thought running through my mind constantly since I found out about Paul's injury. Could a catch fence like seen in Olympic Skiing have prevented his injury? Could the Rampage organizers reasonably install these and other "fall protection" on the mountain without interfering with the riders lines? Is it (or should it) even be their responsibility to take such safety measures? I love Rampage, but this year has made me sick at heart. If it can't be made safer and worthwhile "to a reasonable person" for the dig teams and athletes, then I am willing...

First I hope all the injured riders are okay, particularly Paul with regard to his very serious back injury. With regards to your piece Brandon; you have clearly written it in a state of heightened emotion and though understandable your views are biased.
