I can say with absolute certainty that you're wrong. We are one of the tandems in the video (the one in the preview). We started racing CES last year and we ride in the men's categories. This is the ONLY race that had a tandem category since we had 3 bikes enter the race. We don't do it for attention or glory. We do it because it's an activity that has made us closer as a couple and changed our life together. My wife didn't ride before we road tandem. Now we spend the weekends riding and racing all over...

Seems to me these would be used as handguards, cuz' while the pilot can dodge a tree or whatever, the stoker can't, and doesn't even see things coming at him/her much. Very nice bike, nice line. Just a shame the down tube is square when all others are round. Very dynamic.

We might get a Fox40 for taking it to the bike parks. So far the 38 has done well for us. We take the bike on a variety of terrain and to make sharper turns we sometimes need to oversteer far enough such that a double crown would limit us.

Yeah, you got it right Will. For the bar, I actually like the hydroformed tube. The builder is going to make production run of this frame and he's going with a round strait tube with gusset for that one which I thought was a bummer, but I guess others might prefer the esthetic.
