We tested RS and FOX back to back and honestly, we much preferred the FOX... price is higher for the fox which has been biggest driver in overall price... oh and the fact that price now includes a pre-installed quality fully sealed headset.

Glad you have seen beyond the marketing of short chainstays. It's all about balance... if you want a balanced bike with long reach, you need longer chainstays.

Actually the deeper insertion means that the saddle can drop about 5mm lower on the V3 than the V2 small for same dropper length.

Small rune V3's ST is 10mm longer, but thats in order to fit more seatpost in. it actually allows you to run most modern 150mm dropper post lower than the V2 due to max insertion length.

Ouch, the geo hasn't changed much if you size down. This shock location offers superior performance... (Trust me I would not have released it if it didn't!) in a stronger package with lower center of gravity, there really is no area where the performance does not improve. If your reasoning is purely due to aesthetic reasons liking horizontal shock, then fair enough, that will always come down to personal preference... but these bikes look so much better in real life than in photos. I'd appreciate it if wait until you have read some reviews and had a test ride before...

Full geometry will be released when we hit production in the coming months. This proto photographed has a 477mm reach... which feels nicely balanced.

We certainly haven't ruled out making a large version, it will just depend on there being enough demand to justify it. XL is just the obvious place for us to start, as the taller the rider the more 29" wheels make sense on a DH bike. Thanks for making us aware.

I'm really sorry to read this. The spitfire is a trail bike (not an enduro bike or bike of choice for days in bike parks), and based on your comment on vitals review from 2014 about how you were riding 'rowdy side of riding' with 100,000m of alpine descents already on the frame back then, it sounds like you really should have been riding a rune rather than a spitfire. We offer a very fair warranty for 2 years, and then a lifetime crash replaeent deal to our customers. I can't find any records of multiple warranty claims, which would...

Nice review, I'm very happy to see you are enjoying your spitfire. To address a couple of points in comments...I worked with Cane creek when developing the leverage curve for the spitfire and rune. Any lack of mid stroke damping is related to shock setup, not the leverage curve, which by the way was picked because it was very easy to tune air shocks to. The 'U-shape' refers more the the rune and the spitfire , which is actually quite highly progressive). The reason I used the very subtle 'U-shape' on the rune was to a decrease in leverage ratio...
