i read on bike rumor the patent for the thick/ thin tooth profile was actually filed in the 70's and just expired. so not srams at all, as long as everyone stays in the parameters of the old patent everything is bueno.

Yup, just need a thick-thin toothed chainring and a wider range 10sp.

yeah, i got that ebay 42t ring and it works ok but a dedicated set up would rule.

hopefully with a wide range 10 speed cassette so it doesnt need a special driver. and we could use our existing shifters, that would rock.
