e*thirteen Guidering M - Modified Guidering - PIT BITS: 2013 Oregon Enduro Series Ashland Mountain Challenge - Mountain Biking Pictures - Vital MTB

e*thirteen was present with a full line up of parts - Todd Bischoff explains the design and features in the audio above. They feature alternating teeth to help with chain retention and fit on e*thirteen cranks. While designed for 11-speed chains, they've been working well on test bikes with 10-speed setups, too.

Stay tuned for the full feature on the new e*thirteen goods soon on Vital!

In these days of the Rule of the Lawyers in America, I'm surprised that Sram aren't fighting Race Face, E Thirteen and others who are using their technology. Can they really have been dumb enough to not patent it, or are they actually being cool and letting this happen for the good of the sport? Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of lawyers and lawsuits. I really hope that it's the latter.

i read on bike rumor the patent for the thick/ thin tooth profile was actually filed in the 70's and just expired. so not srams at all, as long as everyone stays in the parameters of the old patent everything is bueno.

Yup from what e13 says a tractor company came out with the design and patented it.
