Probably the best story of this WC season so far for me. Will be cheering for him tomorrow (today actually)!!

Definitely makes sense the guys on enduro bikes are on top in "seeding". Basically this is a more formal timed practice. Know for a fact that nobody killed themselves pedaling hard on the mid-lower part of the course, and obviously in that state of mind, rolling around on a 29er or 650b will give you an edge... Come sunday though, the real power would be laid down... And then you will see a lot of the top guys on DH bikes and 26ers on the top 5-10... Stevie's bike though makes real sense there... Full DH bike geometry and suspension...

I personally know Alvaro, and if a Costarican deserves to race World Cups and prestigious races its him. Hes humble, dedicated, and a class act... Needless to say because of the video, he is a shredder!

I think only very specific or very famous races (mostly Red Bull ones) are by invitation only... (The RB one in the "favelas" in Sao Paulo is by invitation, maybe Valparaiso in Chile, since it has become so famous), the rest of them, anyone who can register and travel there, can race. This type of racing is getting pretty big now, so you would probably start hearing more of this in advance... But that's sspomer's job though =)
