Hi All,
What are people using for following up on service and maintenance for their bike components and suspensions?
I've been using Probikegarage for a couple of years but never really liked the apps design and is imo a bit too finicky for my own taste.
Late December last year this came out, a new modern way of doing stuff. I really like the GUI and how easy it was to setup and import rides from Strava. I will for sure switch off pbg and start using this for my maintenance and service forecasting.
And additionally it is free with no ads.
Highly recommended.

Some differences to competition
- Easier GUI, this is my opinion an others also. Easy navigation hard to get lost. Everything is easy to find etc. As for pbg I don't find it easy to use.
- Weather awareness, depending on weather the wear factor kicks on by either 1.5 or 2x example reign, cold or mud.
- Suspension tuning and public tunes. Keep different setups for bikeparks and trails or as many as you like and use other users favorite tunes.
- Bike service digital pass, a public page for your bike and its components that will show the full history of your components services. Good for when selling the bike, you have proof of bikes maintenance history.
- Also you can send an email link to the bikeshop that serviced your bike and they can confirm the service done and this will be visible in the public bikepass also.For example: https://mtb-tracker.com/pass/91e31a75-fc31-4586-af27-533869378414
- Pwa progressive web app, can be installed as an app like experience. This also means you can use it on desktop computer with browser for bigger analytics.
- Super nice dashboard with a quick glance and. You can quickly see the status of service needs.
- Lastly it is not trying to compete with Strava in any way but it also supports ride reports and ride graphs for weekly and monthly progress with segments. Dashboard also shows Recent top 10 Segments (Pr and Kom) you have achieved.
Public tunes has been updated with an amount of 1400 tunes for Trail and Dynamic riding styles for weight: 65-110kg
There is no free lunch. There has go be a catch to mtb tracker... Has to be.
Soft launch with a subscription coming up maybe?
There is some weird astroturfing going on at another site with two user accounts (one being the same name as here) doing the 'hey, I found this cool app, it does the following' and the other account being the developer.
One account has been silent since 2020 until the launch of this service/site and the other (same name as here) was created in early January, the tracker site info lists the end of December 2025 so it all adds up to something that isn't necessarily malicious or devious but not 100 percent as transparent, straightforward, or direct as it should be in my opinion.
Call me old fashioned but being transparent, straightforward, and direct is a good way to go if you want people to see what you do and trust what you are doing versus one or more hype account(s) having a conversation with another account being the sock puppet or part of the same organization behind the thing.
Currently no plans for subscriptions as this a is hobby project keeping riders first and subscription last kind of thinking.
But if let's say there would be big a spike in users and and server upgrade would be needed to cope with the large user data, then maybe a subscription of 10$ per year would work. But that is something that probably will not happen and thus is free.
And yes, the guy behind this is a rider mate of mine.
I fail to see why someone would offer and HOST a free website without a plan to monetize it...
Self hosting app (that's open source)? Sure. A hosted website without a paywall of any kind? Suss.

I did. But I can't imagine server costs being low, unless it's run on a home server next to a few other apps. Which is valid. But then there's the question of the reliability of such a solution. If you go more serious hosting wise to get more reliability, it's hard to imagine someone footing the bill from the goodness of their heart.
Sorry, modern Internet just doesn't work that way. If you have a certain paywall, it's at least clear - premium users pay for everybody. If you have ads it's clear again. If it's a big company it's to drive advertising (Google, Facebook) or to harvest user data (or both). It's this harvesting user data that's what worries me...
Good, well yes that is true and this is running in Amazon EC2 on a Ubuntu in Stockholm region. So reliability is there for sure and data backups are taken every night.
So currently the running price for this is not that high and does not need any subscriptions yet. And this could very well be the way it is going to be run in the foreseeable future. There could be a donate option added if it continues without the need for subscriptions.
The app has gotten some cool new features etc.
It is being updated when it gets feedback from users on what to improve. Please have a look and test it out. Still think it is really one of the easiest tracker apps to configure and use.
