I can't work out how to unsubscribe from threads. I've seen old threads where they talk about a "stop notifications" option, but all I can see on my feed is an option to receive email notifications.

I can't see any way in the Manage Notifications section to unsubscribe from specific threads, anyone know how to do it?

You can opt out of specific threads without changing your general notification settings. Just above the "reply" window at the end of a thread, you should see a "stop notifications" link. You'll only see it if you're logged in and receiving notifications for that thread.

Hi Brad, here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing. It makes no difference if I'm on my mobile or laptop, or if I switch browsers.

You're receiving email notifications for that thread, and you want to stop them, correct?

No. I've got email notifications turned off. I want to unsubscribe from a thread and there's no option to stop notifications showing up on any of the threads I'm subscribed to. The screenshot I sent is what I see regardless of the thread.

I'm not understanding. Are you receiving email notifications for the thread you posted the screenshot of? Your last message said no. If that's the case, I don't understand what there is to stop.

I've got email notifications turned off. All I want to do is unsubscribe from a thread. You're telling me I should see an option to "stop notifications" (the ones that you see when you click on the number of pending notifications shown in brackets next to the notification icon at the top of the page), I'm not seeing that when I'm logged in and looking at a thread, even when I've been brought to that thread by clicking on a notification.

If it's easier can someone at your end unsubscribe me from everything and I'll just resubscribe to the ones I'm still interested in?

I see what you're saying. There seems to be a glitch that's preventing the "stop notifications" link from displaying and/or working properly for on-site notifications. Our developers will have to dig into it to find a fix. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks. Just a suggestion, but why not have a subscribe/unsubscribe option at the top of the page on threads? Maybe I'm wrong, but as far as I can work out I have to comment in order to subscribe to a thread.

There is a subscribe/unsubscribe link already on every page just above the reply window. You don't have to comment in order to subscribe, you can use the subscribe link. The manual links allow you to override your general notifications settings . As I previously mentioned, there's a bug preventing it from working properly, so my description might not line up with what you're currently seeing.

Please refer to my screenshot. I'm not seeing a subscribe/unsubscribe option. It must be hiding in the same place as the "stop notifications" option.

If it was showing I would've just clicked on it and this whole thread would've been unnecessary.

Are you still there Brad, because my issues remain unresolved?

As I said, our developers will need to find a fix for this. It might take a few weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We've implemented a fix to this problem. Let me know if you're having problems with it.

Hi Brad

I'm afraid nothing's changed as far as I can see. There's still no option to subscribe/unsubscribe or to stop notifications on my threads.

One of our developers looked at your account. Everything looks correct to him. If you're still receiving notifications for a particular thread, you should be able to go to that thread and click Stop.

Hi Brad

I went to one of my threads expecting to see the subscribe/unsubscribe option, which wasn't there, so I wrongly assumed the fix wasn't in place. However, I didn't initially notice the option to stop notifications that I wasn't seeing before, so I think that's fixed, although it seems I still have to comment in order to subscribe to a thread (but I don't have any issue with that). Thanks for your help.
