I just recently bought a new to me 2022 Banshee Titan, and the stock X2 is on its last legs. A friend of mine has offered up his Super Deluxe to take its place, and I know this is nit picking and will likely not make a difference, but it came out of a Specialized Enduro and I would like the shock to be as optimal as possible for my new bike. I saw Sram sells shim kits (P/N 11.4118.096.009 and 11.4118.096.010) but I can’t find any info on if they provide any tech docs or explanation of what the build up of each off the shelf tune shim stack would be so that I can potentially re-tune the Super Deluxe to the recommended settings to match my kinematic.
I know something like a Tractive tune would be the ideal solution, but since I have the knowledge and tools to fully service the Super Deluxe and the shims are only $30, I figured why not try this first.

I would contact Banshee first, and if they don't have an answer for your ideal shock tune or shim configuration I would reach out to Rockshox. In my experience, there's no public chart for this info, these sorts of questions have been almost impossible to Google, and manufactures tend to be tightlipped on this topic. Good luck!
Definitely contact Banshee first to see what they recommend as a base tune. The Super Deluxe shock will have some tuning identifiers under the serial number, but you'll also be able to see that by typing the serial number into trailhead.rockshox.com
Once in Trailhead, you can click "documents", scroll through, and you'll see the "RockShox Rear Shock Piston Tuning Guide"

I went down this road previously since I was in the same situation and had a nitrogen bottle in my garage at the time. The lack of information and the lack of the parties (RS and the bike MFG) willingness to share it meant that the shock went to S4 suspension for a tractiv tune.

Only been available in the last couple of years - to their credit they do have some good documentation and parts these days (although NOT to their credit, that was long overdue!)
I have some info on base tunes but it doesn't appear to include the banshee titan sorry. Is your SDLX a 2023 version or the older model?

As for the shock, it will be older. More from the MY 19-20 era, so not a super recent one.
I thankfully received an email from Keith at Banshee. He told me he does not have all the current knowledge of what tunes Sram has available, but provided me with the leverage ratio of the bike and a graph of the leverage curve. His suggestion was since the bike is considered quite progressive and has a smooth leverage curve, and tossed in a bit of knowledge from working with Rock Shox stuff in the past, that a middle of the road medium/medium tune would most likely do me up right. So between that and that very helpful piston tuning guide, I think I’m on the right track to start tinkering. Thanks to all who chimed in, I’m gonna go order some shims now!
