Tips for attending the Leogang World Cup?

Have been to Leogang twice (once for a World Cup another for fun) while on holidays in Europe from Australia.

There are a heap of pensions and hotels within walking distance to the Bike Park. Hotel Salzburger Hof Leogang is a close as you can get and depending on the room you can see the finish line from your balcony. 

Many are already booked out because of the teams, UCI and organisers needs but Bike Park Leogang has a handy accommodation search function that can help find some accommodation close to the bike park

Entry was free when I went, however if you wanted to use the lift to get onto the mountain this had a charge. There are also options to get "VIP' access which has food and drink packages with guarantied seating in the better parts of the finish line stand.

I'm also going to be at the Leogang WC - it falls in a family trip to Switzerland/Austria.  I see tickets are available now, do you think the VIP access is worth it (family of 3 with a 6yo) for DH finals?  It's like 4x the cost of standard tickets with lift access - 435 vs 112 EUR.

If you are able to drink and eat the extra $$ in the cost yes they are worth it. Alternatively if you have some extra $$ burning a hole in your pocket or its a once in a life time attending a world cup its a nice experience to have a space to relax have some food and drink, guaranteed seats to walk straight into and rub shoulders with some local business people (maybe athletes) .

Either way you have a lift ticket to catch it up then walk down the track for practice etc. Is amazing watch riders on track, camera never does the speed and skill justice.

We had a free upgrade to VIP tickets after a mix up for a Val Di Sole World Cup. We where in a camper van so took advantage of the food and Italian wine. The experience was nice but personally I wouldn't pay the extra for it (I'm pretty tight with money though).
