Which downhill bike?!?!

Edited Date/Time 8/17/2014 5:31pm
I'm thinking of getting a Santa Cruz v10 carbon
Yet, I saw the intense uzzi
And THEN I saw the specialize demo carbon
I'm looking for something light and below $8000
Shocks don't matter as long as they are either marzocchi, RockShox or fox
New reccomendations are welcome
Thanks!

I've seen some pretty shady quality control from Specialized and the Uzzi isn't a true DH bike. I'd go with the Santa Cruz.

I've been thinking about this and times being what they are, why not buy a bike that's MADE in America? The Uzzi or another intense, Ellsworth, SWD/Bicycle Fabrications, That new bike from Colorado, Canfield Brothers. Can anyone think of any others? I think I'll make this a new topic.

@siderealwall2 I don't know if you've been following the Made In America thread, but I just remembered the Turner DHR.

I'd go with a devinci wilson. They have a full carbon version for 2013 and it's a really good design.

Buy a Transition TR450 and your beer fund won't suffer as much.

You can get a TR450 with all the bells and whistles (minus a top of the line wheelset) for well under $6000. Best thing is, its a durable and very good riding bike.

$8000 of your American Dollars could build one of the most badass Zerodes the world has seen.

Zerode G1 Frame and some killer parts!

I would definatly go with santa cruz or the specialized. I work at a shop that sells both and they are both awesome bikes. Santa cruz is for sure more expensive but both are bomber.

Specialized Demos are basically the sickest DH bike I have ever ridden before and I have ridden the Trek Session Carbon too, they are just dialed bikes. Well worth a custom build which would actually save you money in the long run....

Depends on what you are wanting to do with it.
For dh racing id say the v10 is the fastest down the mountain
For a bit more playful and fun ride get the specialized. - has super short chainstays and fun geometry
For affordability, durability and simplicity get the tr450. Great all rounder and its way more affordable.

I like the Turner DHR, and it feels as fast as it looks!

think the GT fury would be worth checking out along with some of the rocky mountain bikes, but out of what you suggested i would get the V10
