Specialized Demo 8 or Giant Glory??

I'm in the market for a new DH frame, and the price of these 2 frames are comparable. How do you guys think they stack up to each other performance-wise?? I technically don't "race" but that is mainly the type of riding that I do with my friends. Any suggestions?

flip a coin they are both really good, it comes down to fit and personal preference I like the demo it you like a low bb then that is the one

Thanks kidwoo, I know that FSR vs Maestro is kind of a toss up since both have their pluses and minuses and the prices are very close to each other, but honestly the geo on the Glory just doesn't look right to me. I feel like for downhill things should be lower....

Oh it has nothing to do with the suspension, they both work really well in that regard. I'd actually say I prefer the giant a tad.

Like you said, it's all bout the geo. I actually really liked riding the glory, it's an awesome bike. But it's got a headangle that would be right at home in 2005. I didn't even know what they were calling the measurement when I demoed the bike at northstar one day, I just rode it. It would be a sick 'park bike' or 'freeride bike'.....whatever you want to call a burly, nimble bike that can take dh riding and jumps really well. But it's not what I would call my preferred realm of angles. Obviously you should take both for a spin if you can and see for yourself but that was my impression.

The brand new demos just feel so dialed.......

I got the Demo and I love it so far. Only been on a couple of rides and one ended up costing me 500 but I"m looking forward to a fun summer with my new ride!!!

I must have smacked a rock pretty good or something cuz I looked down and I sheared off the bolt that holds the derailur on to the hanger. SO it ended up bending my hanger, sent the rear d into my wheel and busted both the wheel AND the rear d, not one of my better days but I have a Saint setup now so hopefully that will hold better :/ @omllenado; I got a size large. I actually used to own an older model demo 8 (2006 I think) and I was riding a medium but decided to go with a large this time and I'm really glad I did, it just feels more comfortable and I'm about 5'11" myself if that helps at all

Awesome, I'm only 5'4" and there's no more S in the country so I went with XS. Been riding a cross country 2011 17.5" EX8 which is a little too big for me.

Got my Demo 8 and I'm glad I went with xs. I got the last of the 3 xs demo left in the US.
