I purchased Trek Stache 7 2018 model six months ago. Over all, big disappointment. First of all, with the gear set, and even more with the manufacturer response (or lack/poor response...).
The gear set (Crank and cassette) of this 2018 model has been downgraded compared to any Stache 7 of previous years (2017 or 2016) as well as to any similar models of the company or of of any other manufacturers.
The gear set with 28T in the front and 11T on the rear make the fastest ride suitable for 12-14 mph.
In contrast, the slowest 28T / 46T mode is too slow and is not useful.
All my calls to the company to replace the frontal touch with greater learning were not answered and ignored!
Moreover, I found that in the 2019 model they increased the frontal bump back to 30T so that in practice show that they actually found that their choice was wrong !!.
Bottom line, I do not recommend buying this model, and in lite of their type "good responses" if I will purchase a bike from this manufacturer in the future (after 3 previous models I had from them)

It sounds like you bought something that you did not think about enough / test it and now its all failure of the company. Btw you know that from time to time you will have to change a lot of stuff as it will wear out?
With honesty, a ring size would be last thing that would make me to recommend bike or not.
For the option of testing the bike, it was not in my mind that their is a chance and risk with the high speed gear ratio, so when I discover it, it was too late to return or replace, and I was sure that Trek will take responsibility and will replace the chainring FOC, but they are decided to ignore ...
BTW, The total cost for new 32T including shipment and work is over 150$ and nevertheless, it's the Trek behavior that cause me to write the post
I am sorry but I can understand why they have not responded to you (OK they should have at least confirmed that they received you mail). They certainly have "real" issues to be treated by the customer service.
You have to understand that a company chooses the bike's specs, should you like it or not. You are the one that has the responsability to choose the right spec for your liking, and thus the right complete bike. Another option is to buy a frame and create your own specs for it to become your "dream bike", but it involves in general more money and/or time than a complete bike.
