Need help on Forks.

Hey guys, I have fox 32 float factory 100mm travel 29er. My frame accepts upto 140mm. My friend has a rockshox yari 140mm Rc for sale(2015). Is it worth it? Should i get it or retain my fox factory fork. thanks!

The Yari will be a much stouter fork, so consider it if you're charging through burly terrain. I think you'll lose some damping performance, however.

Realize that a 40mm bump up in travel will also impact your geometry significantly. You're looking at about a 2-degree slacker head tube angle and a higher bottom bracket.

I ride aggressively, im 240lbs geared up and on the 100mm fox, accounting for the sag only 80mm is left, which is short for 1-3ft drops. I got the all clear from the awesome people over at commencal. As for the 140mm travel its only down to 120-130mm when im seated. I havent done a rough ride yet so I can't tell if i made a good choice, but so far Im lovin the extra 40mm and the fat 35mm stanchions.

Just nit picking here, but I always rout the front brake line to the inside of the fork leg to avoid damage.

Obviously this rider is just waiting for Internal Cable routing on fork lowers.

...I mean, just look - that cable is so 2004.

Im thinking I need a new mechanic, I dropped off my bike at the Lbs so they can uninstall the old fork, install the new one and I headed straight for a meeting. I fixed it now. I had too much trust for that mechanic I guess.
