My Dad is 73 and still rides, he has a Santa Cruz Blur, I ride his old Trek I'm 48. Anyway 2 years or so ago he had a bad crash broke his hand and destroyed his knee. he was alone, left his phone, tried to ride out and crashed again. Lucky someone came along, they had to get rescue and a 4 wheeler to get him out. We ride swayback trail in central Alabama. it took 6 months to get him back walking, now we are back riding. He always says he will take it easy then hauls butt on the downhills, I try to get in front of him to slow him down. He was 54 when he got me into it. Just wondering if y'all know any older riders.Anyone ride Swayback trail in here? Cool site here.

LOL he is 73! When he was 54 and i was thirty we hung at Oak Mountain and would have a blast racing and bumping each other. He's pretty tough but crashes could suck at 73...

Pad him up like the michelin man and let him shred! I just hope I'm still going at 73.

Just tell him to cool his jets. It's not a race. Wink

LoL, it's tough back 18 years ago we would crash each other on purpose, i was 30 he was 54 or 55 I was faster on downhill but he could smoke me bad because he was in better shape. Called himself Father Fast LOL, liked to buzz my back tire on the uphills. We raced one mountain bike race, the iron legs challenge in North Alabama he was only one in his class, Started 2 classes behind me and passed me within a few miles. I had no clue, you don't holeshot a mountain bike race. I got the holeshot, everyone passed me on the first uphill, lol. I will try to get him on here, he don't do message boards though. Great advice man, I just try to be in front on downhills to slow him down. Thanks for the reply.

Tighten his rear hub real snug like so the wheel will spin much slower. Haha. Good luck!
